wont boot

Trying to boot up my p.c and it only gets as far as the windows xp screen and will not boot any futher. Was all working well, no new hardware/software.

1. If you post more than one thread describing the same problem, someone's going ot come yell at you.

2. Can you boot into safe mode? (ie, keep tappping F8 after power on, and selecting the appropriate option from the menu that will appear?)

Maybe one of the administrators could kill the other thread

Does it boot into Safe Mode? If it does then I would suspect that it is falling over on trying to load a driver.

but guys please if you see a multi post use the report a post icon and a small description of what the problem is then we can move/delete the post or user

But on topic my first question would have been "does it boot in safe mode ok?" as well, as said above could well be driver/update issue.

when you say no new software, does this also mean no updates to software or OS?
