Won't Search

Hi all,
When I go to start/search..the search won't go thru 'n i've no idea why..??

Assuming you are using XP,

Did you install any programs that can disable it, like TweakXP?

Did you turn off any Windows Services?

ok, i'm assuming you're using windows 2000/xp? if so, then download this: http://www.fiberpi.com/tweakui.cpl
stick it in your C:\windows\system32\ folder and then go to start/settings/control panel
in the control panel, you should have a new entry called "tweakui". open that up.
go to the desktop tab and scroll down to find "search results" make sure that's ticked. i found that it needs to be enabled to display search results. tell me if it helps!

DISCLAIMER: the tweakui program was originally designed for windows98/2000 but will work just as well under windows xp. in fact, i find it better than the new powertoys tweakui for xp.

 

Okay I d/l the file but it's on Desktop and yes I do have TweakUI
So I don't know what I did to stop the search from working..so while writing this I opened the TweakUI and did what u said...And it worked.....Thanks so much guys http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
