Wooohoooo Broadband

Hey Guys,

Finally got my broadband connected! 1500/256. via internode

Funny thing is my comp wont work, using my sons old PC atm, mine just wont boot, it powers on, but the screen wont kick in, it just hangs on with the power light, the HDD kicks in for the first second, then drops out, I get no beep errors, the keyboard num lock doesn't even kick in.

I tryed a diffirent PSU, checked the memory, unplugged the IDE and floppy ports, still won't boot, did this before but after the 4th attempt it actually booted, this time I`ve tryed it a hundred times, just wont kick in

You should post in hardware or software or drivers. Take your pick.

 

Unplug the front panel connectors for the computer then short the startup pins with a screwdriver.

Reasoning: I had what I though was a failed motherboard recently, exhibiting the same problems as you have described. I replaced the motherboard and the new one did exactly the same thing. I unplugged the headers as a last ditch attempt, and wouldn't you know it, both motherboards worked perfectly! It turned out to be a stuck-on reset switch.
