    Wee heww!

I'm on 2MBit now (well in theory anyway), but my cabling is crappy so its only going at 1MBit. Sucks don't it?

Hopefully in september I'll be able to get 8MBit in this here house! :D

<GASP> I had netzero....I didn`t like them at all. Not only was their accelerator slower than localnet`s standard dial-up....I was getting disconnected for "Security Reasons" all the time. I should have known....anyone that uses Dennis Miller for a pitch-man has problems.

    :( :( :( :( :( :(

Shhhh!!! Don't upset Netzero's feelings while I still have to use them ;)

Disconnection sucks but it can be overcome by using the Norton System Works option of "Keep Connection Alive", which systematically pings the site you choose.

Hey, congrats Adryn! ;) Nothing like a bit of raw speed.

The major provider uncapped the d/l speeds for cable here about four years ago. I think they figured if they let you have the speed, most people will download what they want and get there butts off their bandwidth quicker. Plus it keeps the customers a lot happier.

Unfortunately, the area I moved into doesn't have cable, so I'm stuck with D.S.L. for now. It's still pretty fast, though.

BT seems to have realised this too, so by making their infrastructure much better I think they hope to reduce overall traffic and make DSL in this country more efficient than it is at the moment (which is to put it bluntly, shambolic).
