Hello again. Seems like I am just having so much fun with this thing lately. :p Anyway, everytime I open word (office XP), I get this message: "This document could not be registered. It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document." Can somebody please tell me how ot make it go away? I don't need to link documents together and will never use this feature and am not sure why it is telling me this now.
    Thanks much.

    Hi Christle,

Check and make sure the DCOM service is running.

    1. Click Start > Run and type Services.msc

    2. Double-click DCOM Server Process Launcher

    3. Set its startup type to Automatic

    4. Restart the computer

    Hi,
I checked as you said and I don't see anything listed in the services window labeled DCOM Server Process Launcher. Is there another label I should be looking for?

Do you have XP fully updated?

Also, check and see if you have Protected Storage listed. If so, make sure it is set to Automatic.

It is listed and set to automatic... I found the office disk and am going to try to repair or reinstall the program tomorrow and see if that fixes it. It seems also that the little helper guy isn't working either (though i don't use him because it is so annoying, lol). I'll let you know what happens. Thanks all...
