    Is there a way to create Desktop wallpaper out of words, such as a favorite quote or one of those snappy sayings some of you have at the bottom of your posts? I know how to make wallpaper from an image. And I know how to make a screen saver out of words. Thanks.

    You can create a webpage for a desktop. I do it myself.

    <html>
    <body>
    Type your text here.
    </body>
    </html>

    If you copy this text into notepad, and save the file as .htm or .html, you can set the page as your desktop. You can also use this to have links to files or URLS, and have pictures...if you don't know HTML, you should learn. Its easy and fun. Google has MANY resources.

    yes, open your favoured GFX program and type the words or quote on the blank canvas ( do whatever fancy fonts backgrounds etc you want ) then save as JPG, then when changing wallpaper browse for your saved pic.

    My goodness, such quick answers. I sure don't know how to create a webpage, nor do I know html. But I'll certainly take the advice and try to learn. And what in the world is a GFX program?

    Thanks, Mada Milty. Sounds exciting. I'll be trying it soon. And thanks to Halo, too. I know how to use Paint, so I should be able to work out something. MajorGeeks never fail to help me!

    Sorry Frybo... old habbit using GFX for the word Graphics ( cheers Mada )

    as you have XP, this freeware program builds upon MS Paint and expands it a great deal with more options Paint .NET than MS Paint offers but with the same simplicity of MS Paint.

    Heh, I should have mentioned that this is a great way to learn, but if you get frustrated, or if you catch the webpage bug, and wanna create ALOT more (some people LOVE it), there are what's called WYSIWYG (pn wissywig, stands for what you see is what you get) editors available. They make webpages for you in much the same manner as a GFX program. If you have microsoft office, you have such an app. It's called Frontpage. If not, there's free ones available. I've enjoyed using NVU. Google that if you're interested.
