lol. people dont catch fish in england. they sit by the river (or sea) and drink a lot of beer!!. as far as sea fishing goes, you need a boat, and the english sea isnt friendly. i would try falmouth bay, or similar. there is some good fresh water fishing, and im sure someone can give you better advise. good luck.

Scotland is great for fresh mackerel....bit far to go from Mancs though hehe.

Have you tried Grimsby? Big fishing port as I recall.

Blighty should have some great stream and freshwater fishing. (I'd love to go fly and lure fishing there)

Find out the species available, study the techniques to catch them, and ask the locals.

If all that fails, find out where the nearest fresh seafood shop is. That never fails. :)

Just a hop and a skip away from you is the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado USA. :D Great trout fishing there.

    We're very lucky here.

We have great fresh water, dam and salt water fishing.

Some spots, you don't have to be an experienced angler and you're guaranteed a great catch.

When I lived in Liverpool and used to go sea fishing I used to have some success off Llandudno, mainly mackerell and skate.

Speaking of which, heading out at 5.00am again tomorrow morning up the river in the boat...steelhead, salmon and trout poles all rigged up ready to cast :D

That's the only bad thing about going fishing, the early morning starts.

Why can't fish get up at the same time as people, like midday? :)

I have this conversation frequently with my husband. Why do we have to get up at 4.00am to fish at daybreak when we don't catch the fish until after 11.00am anway? Can't we just skip the getting-up-early bit and move straight on to the kill?

We caught trout today...had some steelhead biting and possibly the odd salmon too, but didn't land any :(

Scorching hot day..got some excellent photos....may post a few when I've had chance to upload them, if anyone is interested :)
