Worm VB.DZS

    Ok, this one is nasty. I'm at work on a coworkers computer which hadn't had any anti-malware software in years. When I plugged in my flash drive I was immediately aware that there was an infection.

    I installed AVG Free 9.0 and scanned his system. (1st Mistake!) It found and removed the worm VB.DZS from several locations including system files. I rebooted the system and when I try to login, it immediately logs me off.

    I can only run in Safe Mode. I installed Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware but when I try install Super Anti-Spyware, it tells me the System Administrator's settings prohibit the installation, so I downloaded the portable version. I can't uninstall previous Java from Safe mode.

    When I enable "Show Hidden Files and Folders" it resets to "Hide".

    I'm ran Super Anti-Spyware in Safe Mode (2nd Mistake!) and now it logs me off immediately even in Safe Mode for ALL accounts.

    I need HELP!!!

    Do you have a log showing what avg removed and from what locations? Would be very useful to see. If you can get hold of that, it would be great because our R&R also requires the use of combofix, and to use that, avg has to be uninstalled. Find the log first. Then regardless, run MGTools.exe as per the instructions in this link.

    When the Windows login screen comes up and I log in, it says "Loading Personal Settings", then about 15 seconds later it says "Logging Off" and "Saving Personal Settings".

    I can't log in to get the logs or uninstall avg. The DVD Rom drive won't open so I can't repair the Windows installation.

    Any ideas how to get around this?
