    I have read through the similar thread listings and it seems I need some reports or something before you can help me. I went through the list of steps to complete before asking for help and I am not able to complete them all since I can't download normally. when I try and download it doesn't ask me where I want to put the file, it just says run. And my c drive link is missing so I can't even find where it is putting things.
    What should my next step be?
    What are these reports you need?
    I am currently running avg free edition and spybot since I already had them on my computer.
    My desktop has been taken over, my start menu is wiped out, my c drive is missing and I am getting incessant popups from winpatrol telling me things are trying to change my settings and invade my computer. A windows popup identified the worm listed in the title, but I really know nothing about it.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Ar you using Internet Explorer to download the files or are you using FireFox or another browser. Try another browser. You do not want to Run or Open the files from the download links. You need to Save them locally.

    If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

    Is it Spybot version 1.6 which is the proper and current version. If not, you are out of date.

    You would be better off uninstalling WinPatrol as it will only get in your way while trying to perform cleaning procedures.
