I know a little bit and pieces of everything. I want to create my own web server from home, with linux operating system. I want to be able to create asp pages. Can someone PLEASE point me in right direction as to which version of linux to get, where to get it, what programs to install on it, and newbie guides to publishing my content so others can see it straight from my home computer? Help is very much appreciated. Thanks.

    www.apache.org
There you can download the apache web server, arguably the best on the market. It comes with a built in administration manual pages. There should be TONS AND TONS of info on google.

As for which linux distro to use...I'm fairly sure it will run on just about any. I'm not sure which to say is "the best". I would imagine one with a good level of security would be most appropriate for a web server.

Oh, I should mention that you will have to follow the links to the httpd project.
    http://httpd.apache.org/

    This is a better link.

fedora core 4 would probably be your best bet for using apache, its stable, its user friendly, and best of all its free
