Wow...50 Gmail Invites...

Hey,

I was checking my Gmail yesterday and realized that I suddenly have fifty Gmail invites, so if anyone wants an invite, give me a holler!

Well, imagine this. Since I signed up with my gmail account quite a while ago, I've had no spam that I didn't ask for.

So, people can live in a state of paranoia all they want. I've not seen any adverse effects of using gmail.

 

i've had no problem with my gmail either... and i have extra invites too..

 

I honestly think that a lot of people bash google because they are jealous of its success.

Google has a good thing going for it, I see no reason to stop using it, especially considering their services work so well.

I'll admit that I listened to the hype in the beginning when gmail was about to come out, but after doing some research of my own and then actually using it, I'm more than happy with gmail

 

i know gmail seems right now to be the best looking email out there hotmail you only get what 250mb space and it never wants to work for me yahoo is the same story but gmail is working just fine no unwanted mail 1gig space and hey i like how you can check your email without waiting for it to load that helps alot when your on dialup

 

I haven't had any problems with gmail, but I do miss the folders... I'm not so fond of that search thing, especially if I have many regular senders. So now I just use it for 1 on my friends, and I use my yahoo for all the others... Not the way it was intended!

 

Same goes for MS and other large corporations. People bash them for no reason.

 

There is a reason: purley jealousy. Usually founded on next to nothing.

 

I haven't used hotmail for years, but have you tried using Gmail's labels? They work pretty much like folders don't they? I find them pretty handy, assign a label and then archive the message. I used it for ebay account stuff, work emails etc.

One thing i would love tho, I used to have a corporate email account where you could give somebody a variation of your email address that would send their incoming mail into a specific folder, rather than your inbox. ie spam.username@domain.com

That was really handy.

 

Expect gmail to go public REAL soon.

 

Sorry to sound stupid, but what exactly is gmail ? How is it different from any other e-mail ??

 

It's an e-mail offered by google, it's in the beta stage right now

50 invites? I don't even know that many people! Can't I just send them all to myself and then morph them all together and get a 51gb account?

Good I'm not alone, I was starting to think who on earth knows 50 people personally and so close that they'd give them email addys?

Everyone I know either has one, or don't want one... Lol. Maybe I could use one for signing up to things... Lol.

Speaking of which, Gmail is now set up for POP , so you can set it up in your mail client

Yeah, that'd be me! I use Thunderbird for my email at work. It's great. You can train the junk mail file to automatically delete messages from certain people. Plus, the storage is amazing!
