Wow (hey, did that just echo?)

OK, working overnights, I am noticing a severe lack of lounge activity here in the hinter hours of the day.

I figured that some of you Aussie types might be on here while I am at work. Fortunately, this is a 3 day stint only, then back to my regular daytime schedule.

I remember a few times back on 3DF when we had some all niter convo's going. LOL

Anyways, just wanted to say good morning to everyone, and by the time a lot of you are going to work, I will be home in bed

Well, we in the west, including Summer Time, are 13 hrs ahead of the east coast U.S. Something like 17 hrs ahead of Cal. Now, if you want to take Sydney time, add another 2hrs, Queensland, add another hour. So in Qld. (like a few members are), they are about +16 hrs on N.Y., and a whopping +20 ahead of L.A.!

So by the time you are getting up for work, we've already done it, and finished the day.

 

So it's currently about 20 after midnite then??? Crikey!!

From the conversation I saw last night, it might be good for all the aussies and regular late nighters to talk..Might keep the riff-raff quiet

 

@Phantom you have the NY and LA time backwerds.....I live in Northern Cal, and we're four hours different from those in New York.....and it's standard time during the winter, daylight savings for the other half of the year......wobbles

 

We're off DST now Wobbles... back to good old Eastern standard Time now

I dunno how it all works once you get out of the US< I just know that if you go far enough to the west, it becomes yesterday or something. *shrug* not a big international traveler yet. Wait till I hit big tho, will be traveling all over the world to do hair Then I'll know and I can post from different time zones and look like I posted a bunch of stuff at the same time LOL TIme to go to work now.

Sounds like you misunderstand where I am. I live in Western Australia, not west U.S., that's why I responded to this thread. We are in summer here, that's why we have summer daylight saving time.rolleyes

Yes, New York is for hours closer to G.M.T. than L.A. (G.M.T. -4hrs and G.M.T. -8hrs, respectively), which is basically what I said. We in Perth are at G.M.T. +8+1= +9hrs. Ergo - 13hrs difference between here and N.Y., and -17hrs difference between here and L.A. Queensland, in far eastern Australia adds another 2 hrs (I thought it was 3, but not with daylight saving).

Actually Phantom, if you look closely, you wioll see that NY actually falls in the -5 yellow slot

Yeah, you're right it's UTC/GMT -5 hours T.Z. Not quiet as far east as I thought. So much for my geographical memory, lol.
