Wow!

I was lazy yesterday and didn't go outside at all. Evidently the mailman (woman? person?) tiptoed up to my door and quietly left a package there, which I found this evening when going out for dinner. Return address was from Star & Abby.

My first thought was that the dreaded Yeller Shorts lay there steaming on my doorstep. Gently tossed the box inside and went on out to dinner.

Came home and gingerly opened the box (equipped with surgical gloves and mask, of course), and was shocked.

No steaming shorts. Six lovely cards from various MG members, and a very nice book, all collected and forwarded by our favorite Florida couple. One all the way from jolly ol' England. I'm truly touched. Thank you all!

 

That Florida couple have awfully big hearts G.T.

Sorry we haven't called since last week, it seems all my time has been spent in Mission Planning Meetings at work, and Abby was stunned to see me sleep until the ungodly hour of 9:30am yesterday

Hope you are doing as well as can be expected, and will effort the best we can to call you later in the week when time is a bit more of an ally.

G.T. with all that has been going on around here I did not get a chance to get a card out to you. I am truly sorry for that my friend but I have been praying for you and will continue to do so. Could I get an update about how you are doing (perhaps in a pm)?

SLACKER!
No sweat. I think I spent half of the past weekend on the phone with various friends/family members. My ear was tired.

Any time except Friday night. The boss decided he needs me noon to 9:00 PM Friday nights starting this week. That's CENTRAL time. Kinda late, but Friday evenings tend to be pretty quiet, so it shouldn't be too tough. Weekend should be pretty free.

Boy is that the truth!

 

No problem, and there's nothing secret. I see the oncologist again tomorrow, and he's supposed to finally give me a shot of Lupron for the prostate cancer and something that's supposed to help with bone weakening/bone loss. First time for both, I'll be watching for any bad reactions to them, but the oral stuff I've been on has been no problem. I've had to swear off any heavy lifting (no problem; I'm too lazy for heavy lifting anyway), but other than that, life goes on pretty much as normal. What pain I've had so far can be controlled with nothing stronger than Advil, and there are a lot of pain-free days when I don't need anything.

So basically, other than spending a lot more time with doctors and getting poked & prodded, life goes on pretty much as normal, for now at least.

Been out of commission with Tonsillitis and ill-health for the last week myself. Ugh!
