WPA-TKIP algorithm cracked in 60 sec

Only applies to WPA using the TKIP algorithm, WPA2 is still viable apparently. Pretty interesting stuff. I havent read their paper yet, but glancing through it it might take little while

 

well, that's not good...

I don't know if all my devices will work with wpa2 (as a matter of fact, i know they won't) or wpa with AES.

 

I doubt you'll have to worry about it. Dont think many people out there have the ability to crack wep, let alone WPA's tkip algorithm...

 

Well, perhaps not in the short term but I'm sure someone will have coded an app for sale in the not too distant future.

 

there's alot of utilities out there to crack wep....
I haven't tried any nor do i care to, but they are there.

 

For the common user, I doubt a hard core hacker would waste their time on a home user, they are more interested in hacking companies that they can get ID's off of. It takes alot of effort to crack firewalls & they ain't gonna waste their time unless you got something they REALLY want
