    To the Mods.

I've just logged onto MG after approx. 14 days away. I've noticed that I last logged on at 02-01-06 at 06:18. This is the Yankee way of showing dates and not the Aussie way.

I've checked the USER CP in MG and it shows GMT +10 for Eastern OZ, Guam and Vladivostock. I've checked Windows Control Panel, Date and Time and it shows GMT +10 for Brisbane (both are correct) but MG still shows the incorrect (for me) date format.

Any ideas? How do I correct it as US dates are a PITA to OZ members.

No settings that users can alter I fear Bazza, as the changes would I guess be forum wide and as the forum and site is US based that no change will be made to the date format ( but no doubt your question will be answered correctly from Tim or Jim ). Passed a note on to the Admins.

I've kinda got used to both ways of date formatting, while working for an American company for quite a few years, I guess AUS uses similar or same as UK the Day-Month-Year format as standard?

Maybe I just noticed it set up this way, but I thought it used to display the correct way for us Aussies based on our User CP settings. Anyone outside the US care to comment, particularly Aussie users? Insomniac?

Mine has always used American date format, even though it's set to GMT +10 for Australia East Coast.

Time and day is Aus (we are one day ahead), but not the format.

I still struggle with the US date format. Everytime officialdom asks me for my DOB I have to stop and think. Same when they ask me for the kids'. They must think I am a crappy mother...not remembering when my kids were born

What's even harder is trying to understand how many degrees Celsius Fahrenheit is.

It would be too much to expect the world to agree on one standard.

While I'm at it, I also hate driving games as it's very confusing when you're used to driving on the other side.

I always get confused when forums use the all number system. I prefer the military way. As of this post: 16Feb06

16Feb06 is great and easy to understand, but it doesn't sort very well in databases, I guess. Bazza
