Wrong Ethernet Driver

I recently installed this driver for my ethernet card

and everything I download is corrupt or has some other problem, so I think it might be the wrong driver.

Is there someone who could help me find the right one?

Be sure to empty all your Internet Explorer cache files (run CCleaner regularly).

You could also try a WinSock and TCP/IP repair: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259/en-us
Lastly, try using a different browser like Firefox or Opera.
This is an interesting problem (to me at least) and I'll keep doing some research until we get it figured out.... but be patient if the above links don't help.

 

Thanks dlb, the ethernet driver seems to be working and I got a few more things taken care of like the video driver and installing avast and firefox. However I still cannot install SP2 from Windows Update so right now Im downloading the exe off the microsoft website to see if that will work.

I've used Dial-A-Fix to repair Windows Update problems in the past. Check all the boxes in the Registration Center, all the boxes in the SSL section, and check the Fix Windows Update box also. Hey thanks for all the help, I got SP2 installed now and after I did that WindowsUpdate worked just fine.

One more quick question if you dont mind...
I try to keep my computers pretty protected, I use Avast, have both Opera and Firefox for browers other than IE7, I run AdAware every week along with SB S&D, does that pretty much cover everything or would you suggest something else?
