wtf? Help needed =[

Hey all

Recently, my computer has been 'playing up'. Windows often stopped responding and i had to work without the starter bar.
But now its got a whole lot worse.

I received a message from the little yellow ! triangle in the starter bar that I had spyware on my computer and that it will provide me with something to download in order to get rid of it. I didn't do anything becuase i thought it was a con. The little message pops up like every 10 seconds I swear.
I downloaded one of the firewalls on here and now i when I start windows on normal windows i can't do anything, it all just 'freezes' really, so now i have to use safe mode, which sucks!I can't listen to music or watch videos or anything!
On normal mode i recieved a message telling me i either had a virus or my computers being attacked.
My friend told me to download ad-aware but after doing so i discovered that you can't use it in safe mode.
so now Im stuck!
Luckily I dont buy anything on the internet,so im kinda safe...right?
Ive done a couple of norton scans and found 14 files infected so far...and 14 fixed... but still,
I need help on how to get rid of whatever the funk is on my computer!

either way,hackers should die horrible deaths.
