x850 xt platinum for $350?! Too good to be true?

hey guys, i was looking to buy the x800 xl and it was on sale at best buy for 280...and then i went to tigerdirect

and they have an x850 xt platinum edition video card for just 350 dollars....i was beyond amazed...if someone can tell me whether theres a catch, i would be really thankful. and also...there is no difference between the card manufacturers other than the cables they include, right? thanks

 

i know, thats what i was thinking, but i called them, and they did confirm that its brand new, and everything is included thats on the pictures...hdtv cables and all...i bought a 500 watt ultra xconnect modular psu from them for 40 dollars, works wonderfully...i dunno, the temptation on this one is just sooo frigin big.

 

pple keep talking about mobo and gpu compatibility, some have had problems with that...its referring to agp and pci express compatibility, no? so basically if the card is pci e and my mobo is pci e, it all should work just fine, right? also...how bout that cooling...i dont really want to spring for a 140+ dollar water cooling system...right now, my x600 xt runs at about 35-38 celc., while hdd and cpu at about 30. any suggestions? thanks

If it makes you feel any better...I shop at Tiger Direct ALL THE TIME!!!! They have a store right down the road from me (lucky me, but my wife doesn't think so!! LOL).

They always seem to have various deals on things that are an outlandish savings...and you wonder...HOW IN THE HELL do they make money!!?? But I guess they must buy in such big lots, and pass on all the manufacturer incentives to the consumer!!! I don't know!!

I must say. That deal is simply amazing. Tiger Direct has a pretty good reputation, so I wouldn't see why they would even consider a scam, or anything. If I hadn't already bought an X800XL, that would be bought in milliseconds!

aite yo, i got my vid card yesterday, installed it...its a beast, it runs pretty quiet...ran 3dmark05--6300 something score!!!!...and ran warcraft3 ft on everythin on high and turned on perfectly...nice...no problems at all...im starting to love tigerdirect like...a lot...

 

That is cheap, although a few other retailers are selling the same model for a similar amount.

Did you get any bundled software or accessories with it?


I'm still getting over the shock that the mysterious X850 XT actually exists.

 

i got the driver disk, i rly didnt care about any software...i could get that from ahem, other places...and yea i got the hdtv cable , another cable with 2 black and 2 yellow ends....all from svideo....the power cable for the card....and stuff....i think thats it?...o yea and manual and registration card...theres a picture at tigerdirect of it, so u can check it out cuz my description sux i know.
