Wanting to get a second opinion on my connection issue. I have a 5 meg dsl connection at my house. I was using my wireless card on my 360 to connect to xbox live, but I started experiencing lag in games and drops in connection on Netflix so last night I hooked my 360 directly into my dsl modem. Much to my surprise, I still experienced the same connection issues. My 360 is one of the original launch ones. It never red ringed on me (knock on wood) so I never bought a new one. Do you think that my xbox might be slowly dying? Is there even a way to test it? Thanks in advance.

It will never help you, until your ISP gets their stuff together.

Is that 5 megs up or down? I not too familiar with DLS as I have cable.
Not to brag but, I have 15-18 down and a measly 2 meg up.

I had trouble with my connection a few months back & had to get a new modem due to everyone else on the same bandwidth.

Do you share a connection with any other computers in you house; whether it be wired or wireless, How old is your modem?

Wireless connection to the Xbox is the worst possible thing that you could do. Mine lasted 2 years before the video card went ( not covered until much later after I tossed it). I'm on my second that's about 3 years old now(knock on wood as well).
