I posted this error message in the software forum along with an IOBit Defrag uninstall problem. I received help for the IOBit problem and it has been resolved. However, the person helping me said the other error I am getting on normal boot is maybe a malware problem.

This is the error window that pops up on boot in normal mode:

Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version. File "xerdom.dll", error 126

I have already visiting the Read and Run Me First area of the forum and performed all of the requested scans.

Spybot found one problem and it was fixed. The Windows Security Center was disabled.

BitDefender found and deleted a few files that were infected with a couple of viruses.

Panda Active Scan came out clean.

    Please see attached log files.

Additional files. I had to run AVG.

All scans were performed in Safe Mode/Safe Mode w/networking where required.

    No this is my computer.

Another thing that happened is this:

SpyBot fixed the problem I mentioned in the beginning post:

    Windows Security Center Disabled.

So now I noticed that Avast icons are missing in the taskbar and when email comes through it does not appear it is being scanned.

So I went to look at Windows Security Center to see if I am protected with AntiVirus and yep I am. Only it says I am being protected and up-to-date by PC Tools which I have not been able to completely rid my system of.

Before I let SpyBot fix the problem I was running Avast and the Avast Icons were in the taskbar.

The problem Spybot is detecting is not a threat nor a valid detection, it's telling you that you have manully set the settings to manage your own AV and/or Firewall settings.

Your logs are clean, you can have HJT fix the below entries.

For PC Tools you can follow the below to remove it completely.

Download Your Uninstaller! 2006 5.0.0.360, save to desktop and install.

Locate PC Tools and uninstall this way.

I ran HJThis Scan so I could remove what you said to remove. The first two were present in the scan and I removed them. However, the last two,

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adobe Reader Speed Launcher] "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe"
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_02\bin\jusched.exe"

were not present in the scan.

As far as SpyBot detecting and fixing the Windows Security Disabled thing I know why it was disabled. I disabled it when I installed PC Tools because Windows Security would not recognize the AV. It was either PC Tools it would not recognize or Comodo AV Beta.

So I will now go and install the uninstaller per your instructions and see if I can rid the computer of PC Tools.

If not, then I may just wipe out the hard drive and reinstall the OS.

    HJThis log attached.

OK this is no longer funny.

I followed the link to Your Uninstaller 2006 you provided and installed it. PC Tools did not show up in the list of programs. Using the advanced feature to search requires you to purchase the program.

I reinstalled PC Tools and received the following error message:

    The procedure entry point
?CFGETOBJECTTYPE @@YA?AW4SS_TOOBJECTTYPE@@PAX@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library PCTCFilter.dll

Three clicks of the OK button stopped that window from popping up.

Then I decided to do the uninstall with Your Uninstall 2006. Yes, PC Tools showed up. I followed the prompts to uninstall and waited for the program to finish.

I then got the following error:

You have canceled the uninstallation or you have not let Your uninstaller! automatically remove all the unused files, uninstall was not successful.

OK, I did not click on anything while the uninstaller was running. The only windows I had open was the uninstaller program window. I ran the uninstaller again because of course PC Tools still appears in the Add/Remove area. No luck, I got the same error message.

    So now what?

I took care of the problem with PC Tools by reformatting my hard drive. I saw a few other problems pertaining to PC Tools Free edition when I googled the problem I was having. Maybe you guys might want to reconsider putting it in your list of good or reliable Free AV because it is impossible to uninstall.

    Thanks for your help.
