XP antivirus 2008

    I have tried multiple antivirus programs including AVG, Trend micro and Avast but none have been able to successfully remove Xp antiviurs 2008 from my computer. I tried system restore but it will only restore today (which has the virus in it). I do not know enough about computers to do the manual removal myself. I am fully willing to let anyone hijack or whatever it takes to remove this. Its making my life miserable. So far its blocking websites, changed the background, ran false scans saying it found 500 threats ect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Uninstall ALL but one antivirus program immediately if you have more than one installed. Then continue.

    Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

    I tried going through your list of things to do but once i get to the MSconfig link the rest of the links won't load. can you email me those pages individually? thanks

    Sorry but I cannot email this to you as it would require tons of time. Every link contains more pages with more links, which also contain more pages with more links...etc. This would be a huge job. If you could click the previous links, you should be able to click the other links too. I suggest you try again and also try another browser. Also you could try running the steps in safe boot mode.

    Thus keep trying all steps.
