XP Browser & System Virus

    Hi all, hope someone can help me! Heard this place was a great resource from a friend!

    I have a virus that is causing all sorts of pain, bringing up inappropriate websites and preventing applications from being launched. I tried to follow the guide but the first application won't launch any application. "Application cannot be executed. The file (any-file).exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"

    Please follow these instructions. ( Note, if something doesn't work, make a note of it and just continue on ).

    You may need to try to run the scans in safe mode. You can also try renaming the scans.
