    everest report

When Everest is done scanning, click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware related pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.

Follow these instructions on how to post a everest report

I would suggest you put it on a thumb drive then run it. Will the xp computer boot?

Are these the drivers you are talking about?

    Your chipset drivers: (Install first)
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_....26_11.09.html
    Your audio driver:
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Realtek_Hi...P03_d4902.html\
    Your video driver:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.21_whql.html

Will these get my network card working?

My pc is up and running but unable to get online.
In my device manager / other devives, i have the following items with a question mark :

    ?802.11bg WLAN
?Audio device on HD audio bus
    ?Other PCI bridge device
    ?PCI Simple Comm. controller
    ?SM bus controller
    ?Video controller(VGA Compatible)

Sorry for so many questions, just worried about installing wrong drivers, I was told it could realy cause problems.

I looked at the other post and they have the same mother board as you and had the same problem, and the drivers posted were the ones for his mother board which is the exact same mobo as you have. If after installing these drivers you still have a problem post back and we will continue to research your drivers to get you up and running.

This link is supposed to have all the driver needed to get you back to normal. click on the link download the driver, you do not have to uninstall anything.

If this doesn't help post back and we will try something else...

Sorry it took so long to get back to you I had someone check and they found this link should complete the entire install of your drivers for your computer. If you have already found the solution then you can disregard this link. If not then this should be it.

Please post back and let me know if this helps you out...

I'm at a loss why the last 3 drivers will not update, I went to hp site and and found the previous drivers I posted for you. I'm going to continue to research but I'm at this time at a lost.

Were you at least able to install the last set of drivers I posted for you about a week ago?

you've gotten farther ahead then I have with your problem, I'm still at a loss why the drivers aren't working. I guess drivemax worked better for you then I did. i will continue to read to see why it is not installing, If you find a solution please post it. That way the next time I'll be better prepared to assist someone else with a similar problem

Its obvious that my mother board was meant to have vista on it. This is a new copy of xp , is there any way to use this xp software on my older PC and then i would buy a copy of vista for this pc? Will Microsoft let me change from the pc that i originaly loaded it on to the older one?

    Thanks again.

  27. buggabear

    buggabear MajorGeek

    Yes to the first question.
Now I have a question. your pc came with vista, do you have a restore partition on your computer or a system disk that came with your pc

  28. boogleywoogley

    boogleywoogley Private E-2

I got the pc from a sams club as is! It was a return, i only payed $294.00. The thing is, it was returned with no hard drive/OS. So i bought a new HD and OS(xp) but the original HD/pc set up had vista on it.

What needs to be done as far as putting my xp on another pc and still get support from MS?

  29. buggabear

    buggabear MajorGeek

You will have to call MS and explain to them that you are installing the os on a different machine because it is not compatible with the one you tried to install it on. make sure you explain to them that it was completely removed from the previous machine, they should then give you a manual confirmation key to put in the other machine.

As far as the HP 8357c to order recovery disk you should go to that link indicated scroll down to the middle of the page and follow the instructions. It will probably be cheaper and it should have all the necessary drivers on the disk to get you running correctly.

According to your post you needed Realtek drivers for your motherboard, if that is the case then your card should be realtek. Also according to your board there is a device that is requiring realtek HD drivers which leads me to think you have a card installed probably realtek. Hope this answers your question.

  34. dlb

    dlb MajorGeek

Yes, you have RealTek HD Audio, probably built-in to the motherboard. The driver is available here at Major Geeks. The PCI Simple Communication Controller is the dial-up modem. Chances are, you will never use it so you can either leave the driver uninstalled with no negative effects, open the PC and remove it, or you can use this driver from HP. You have to have the audio driver correctly installed first. Speaking of which, the speakers should be plugged in to the green jack on the back of the PC; it will be in the same panel as the keyboard and mouse ports.
    :-D

    I hope this helps!

Sheba I think it may be possible but first you need to start a new thread that way the answers will be tailored to you and not the previous thread.
Second you will need to run and post an everest report so the people here can see what exactly your hardware setup is in your dv1000 here is the link for an everest report

click here to run everest report
