I ran into another PC loaded with malware (I have already cleaned it) and I'm now trying to reverse the changes the malware made. I have re-enabled the task manager, re-enabled regedit, re-enabled msconfig, repaired internet connectivity, but a few things are still outtawhack.... see this thread for details:

I am having the EXACT same problem on this laptop with the All Programs missing and Log Off missing... except this PC is running XP Home and doesn't have gpedit.msc so I copied it over from an XP Pro system and that didn't work either (I really didn't think it would but it was worth a shot). So- is there an XP Home equivilent of gpedit????

I found this link and using the info in that article, I should be able to fix the problems. This link should be to be VERY helpful to some of you other tech-types out there......
