XP Home, Wireless Network, Trouble with Sharing

I'm having trouble with sharing files on my wireless network. I have files in the Shared folder, and I indicate to share everything. But the permissions keep reverting to 'read-only' even though I uncheck that box and check "allow users to change my files" on the other panel.

Help appreciated!

 

Does, the user you log into to do this have full admin status? Double check to make sure. I'm guessing you have windows XP correct?

Yes, I have XP Home, and I have full administrator rights, and a password.

 

when you right click the folder and select allow network users to change the file do you click apply first then click OK? Also, are you doing this on the share folder or the individual files?

 

I was clicking apply first, and I was doing it on the folder.

But I think I have it fixed now. The 'Hidden' checkbox is still checked, and it is still grayed out, but I now have full access to the folder, subfolders and files.

I think it was a problem with the first file I had in as a test. It was the only one that had the problem. I could access it with full rights on another computer on the network, but not the one I was trying initially.

Everything else seems to be fine now. Thanks for your help.
