XP Install

    Hi folks''
    Is it possible to install Xp pro or another version of Home Edition over the top of Xp Home Edition or will it have to be a format job

    You can do a repair install of home to home ...putting xp pro over home will do a upgrade ...and shouldn't require a format.

    If it asks for it ...but probably won't on the repair install of home ..will ask if you upgrade to xp pro.

    If you want to change the key ....that can be done.

    Just to add something, a repair install is the same thing as upgrading the OS over itself, so actually, a repair of Home will ask for the key again.
