    Hi newbielee,
    Welcome to the Malware Forum!

Please go through the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST and attach the requested logs. We'll have a better chance of helping you if we can see if there is malware causing this.

    Thanks.

    Hi newbielee,

    Please do the following:

    1) If you do not use Windows Messenger (not to be confused with MSN Messenger!!) I would like you to run Disable/Remove Windows Messenger

    2) Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    F3 - REG:win.ini: run=

After you click fix, just close hijackthis.

    3) Now run CCleaner at the default setting with the Windows tab as the top one.

    4) Please run C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat and attach the fresh MGlogs.zip.

Let me know how things are running now?

    Hi newbielee,

You might have had too many temporary files and running CCleaner helped. In any case, I don't see anything further that is malware related. Please go through the final cleanup instructions in the box. I advise you to wait before you reset your system restore points. There's no evidence that yours are infected and you won't know until youi've run the computer for awhile if the same symptoms could come back. If they did come back and turned out to be software-related, it would be useful to have your older restore points still there.
