I dont know whats wrong. but I have my guest account enabled and I have an account of my own. Both fast switching and the login screen are checked but when I log off and switch users, I still get the same old classic login, what should I do?

I am kinda confused here, are you trying to switch users and use Classic login, or are you trying to use Enhanced XP type login? It could be that Classic Login is enabled in the Policy, or Registry. What version of XP are you using?

I am trying to use a welcome screen I dont want the classic kind. And no matter what I do, even if I check the "welcome screen" option, I still use classic.

I use XP Professional.

I used to be able to use the weclome screen but that was a long time ago and I cant do it aynmore.

Check this... Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change the way users log on or off, Check "Use Welcome Screen".

It can either be a Registry edit that has caused it to use Classic Ctrl-Alt-Del for the login, or is a Policy in GPO that has it set for Classic Login. Either can be done, and if you used a Registry Tweak program like WinGuides, or the same, you could have caused the program to set for Classic Login.

Check the following Registry key:

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Name: LogonType

Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value: (0 = Classic Mode, 1 = Welcome Screen)
