XP Mode in Win 7x64

I'm trying to connect to a network printer in XP Mode in Windows Virtual PC in Win 7 Ult but am unable to gain any access to the local network. It finds the workgroup OK but access is then denied.

This is just one of many problems I'm experiencing trying to persuade XP Mode to emulate what I can at present do in VMWare Player. I was hoping to be able to take VMWare off the system but it isn't looking very likely at present

 

Update - LAN access problem resolved by changing the VM's adapter setting from the default NAT to using the PC's own adapter. Progress!
