Xp Pro frequently freezes

Ever since I installed the FireFox add-on "AdBlock Plus" my HP Omnibook 6000 freezes up on me & CTL+ALT+Del wont work & I have to hold the power button for a few seconds before it shuts off.My XP Pro doesnt just do this when Im doing certain things,it happens no matter what im doing.
I ran sby-bot,AdAware,CCCleaner,Advanced Windows Care,& SUPERantispyware.Ive also ran disk check & ive done system restore.
Right now Im in safe mode w/networking & im having no problems at all.
Can someone help me?
Heres what Im workin with.....
HP Omnibook 6000
XP Pro Service pack2
Intel pentium III processor
696MHz
256MB Ram

Hi all I can say is don't use it as your not the only one who's having probs with it..
