XP Professional...what to look out for?

    Hey Folks! I'm finally upgrading from home to pro....any things i need to be aware of?!?! If this is already posted somewhere let me know....with my gratitude Thanks

    Not really, apart from update, update, update!!


    I would be very inclined to backup all your important data, files, favorites, email etc and clean install Pro, making sure you format it to NTFS. Have all your Virus, Antispyware and firewall apps already downloaded ( or you may have them on retail CD already ) ready to install before going onto the net.

    As Pro sets a few more services running than home, you could check the services guide http://majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=12 and see if their are any you dont need for your setup and usage.
