XP Profile for Performance.

Can anyone tell me how i can set up an account on my pc for gaming. I was reading a tweaking article on how you could right click on my computer > properties > hardware > hardware profile > and create a new profile for performance. i get how to do that, but once i get into it what do i need to tweak or disable to make this profile stripped down for gaming? any suggestions? All those are good.

I told a friend, to just kill the explorer process, and (at their own risk: Antivirus).

He stated, that he gets better gaming performance after killing the windows shell. /me shrugs.

 

Tim, it worked really well for me. the computer i did this on was idleing at anywhere from 0%-2% cpu usage and the memory was a steady 100mb! this machine used to idle at like 256mb so it worked wonders for me. thank you again very much for the info.

 

can't wait till the next lan party so i can fully test it out!
