I remember seeing somewhere,(I think it was on this forum)something about saving an xp file onto floppy so as to be able to make xp recognise the hard drive ?. I recently had to reinstall xp home but for some reason it did,nt recognise my system and I had to reactivate it,as it was it was not to much of a pain to do but I dont,t want to do it again !.I am very much against software piracy so that is definitely NOT the reason I want to do this.

Just as a note to those who wish to get rid of xp off a hard drive, a way I have done it with a previous copy is to load a linux os over it which then enables you to use something like win 98 to reformat it !. You can also use someting like eastec sanitise to completely write over everything and have a completely clean disc.(NOTE this will definitely erase the xp setup file so don,t use this if you want to re-install xp !)
