I have been told there are 2 registry keys/values that can be deleted (they will rebuild themselves) that will allow XP to remember window sizes and locations. If so, what are these keys/values? And, I am told that XP will remember 400 window size/locations by default. Can this default be changed? If so, where and how?

Thanks for your help and kindness...

Back up these RegKeys first: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
    ShellNoRoam\BagMRU] and [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
ShellNoRoam\Bags] Now delete the BagMRU and Bags keys (just those and the things under them, not keys above them like ShellNoRoam). Close the reg and reboot.

Windows XP will now re-start remembering your settings of size and position. You have 400 settings available. To change that number to 1000 or 2000, do this:

Open Regedit and go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell. Right-click on "Shell", click New--Key--DWORD Value. Name this item "BagMRU Size" (without quotation marks, but with a space between BagMRU and Size).

Double-click BagMRU Size, give it a Decimal value of 1000 or 2000, then click OK.

Now go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam. Create a BagMRU Size DWORD Value for "ShellNoRoam". Give it the Decimal value of 1000 or 2000 you gave the other one, then click OK.

You will have two "BagMRU Size" values equal to hex 0x000003e8 (1000) or 0x000007d0 (2000). Close the registry and reboot.

Ask if anything there isn't clear to you.

Sorry jx and Kodo. Didn't know you were posting. This solution is solid, however for the exact question asked.
