I've just managed to clear the mess from having the PSGuard.com malware installed on my machine. My scan log is now clear, but the I still can't loadup XP (with SP2) on into Normal mode.

When I bootup in Normal mode I get to the Welcome Users screen. When I select any user the screen just sits on that page. The system doesn't hang as I can still use the mouse to move around.

If I bootup in to Safe Mode it get me past the User Welcome page, but I only get a black screen with no taskbar, icons - nothing !

All that I can access is ctrl - alt - del to get the task manager. Even then I can't access explorer, internet - anything of any use.

    Help Please

Backup your important data into another partition(other than the os one) or another media
Try to start explorer from taskmanager>newtask
    Try an sfc /scannow
Try to create a new user account and try logging in

Won't allow me to do any of those tasks.

When I try to run something from the Task Manager it just hangs (Not Responding)........

I tried that last night, once the system installs the basic drivers it says it starting windows, then nothing - just sits on a black / blank screen.

    Running out of options ....
