XP Transfer Wizard

Hi. I need to use the transfer wizard to make a copy of my files and settings. The size is 2.3Gig. Xp doesn.t seem to accomodate DVD's to accomplish the task. How can I make this work? Tnx.

PS. I have the same problem when trying to copy large files from a HD to a DVD.

Are you trying to use FSTW to set up another computer?

Maybe it would help if you told us what your end goal is.

File Settings Transfer Wizard does not transfer programs, you have to install them, it just transfers files the settings.

Sorry. Didn't communicate very well. When trying to use the FSTW on my drive and use a " other " device to copy to, I degignate a DVD drive in the system. All goes well untill it finally tries to copy the 2.3Gig file it creates and tells me that I do not have a device on the computer that has the capacity to do it. I do and wonder what settings are wrong or if the FSTV can't accomadate a DVD device at all.

 

I don't see any mention of DVD choice in what i can find, but I'm not an advanced user, maybe someone else will have a solution.

Tnx Cat. I have a cd drive and a DVD drive. After looking at the site you poserd, I believe I am right in thinking that FSTW can only work with Cd's. Appreciate your trying to help.

so your trying to use file and setting transfer wizard correct, to transfer a file of 2.3 GB to another computer right? (as for Roms and such yes it only works with CD's). if you want to get them to another com i suggest finding a crossover cable rather then a hub and such, much cheaper and easier.
