XP tweaking

Anyone know where theres a good website with a guide on how to make XP faster? As you currently see, my specs aint that good and my pc has been runnin sluggish lately. I have tried Disk Defrag, Disk Cleanup, CCleaner, malware check, and a few other tweaks but none seem to work. I have also tried your guide but no major improvement. thanks.

I second the Tweaking Guide mentioned by viper_boy403 - it is a wealth of info on XP. I also advise you to visit their site, as there are other guides there for tweaking ATI and Nvidia video cards - not to mention specific games and such. You could spend hours there!

I also recommend this guide by Black Viper, archived here on Major Geeks (bless their geeky hearts . . . ). It gives an explanation of the services that exist in XP, and various configurations based on what you are doing with your PC. Black Viper's informative website vanished some time ago . . . and geeks around the world hopefully await it's return.
