XP8 problems upgrade icons

    XPupgrade8 new problems:new icons ex. hs_err_pid#...what are these?

    ?? What upgrade 8? Are you referring to Internet Explorer? XP, I assume Service Pack 3?
    And new icons on your desktop?
    Any recent downloads?

    Yes, explorer. new icons appear as noted. What are they? Delete them?
    Downloaded upgrade. Mistake?

    Hi

    Without more detail on what you are seeing and where these files are located on your PC then at a guess this could be linked to updating to IE8 and not having a upto date Java Runtime installed,

    So run this app JavaRa and remove all old Java versions, then run CCleaner and its Cleaner and Registry cleaner, run the registry one until no items are listed for removal and then install the latest Java from HERE (do the uninstall and install of Java with all browser windows closed)
