I'm using Firefox 17.0. When I try to open up my yahoo mail account it shows me a page to upgrade now or later. I would rather not, but I don't know how to stop and get rid of that page. I feel when it upgrades more ads jump in.

Hey skrusins, I really don't think you can stop it. I have a Yahoo Mail account and at one point it completely blocked my Yahoo Mail Classic, so I had no other choice than to upgrade. Now I also use gmail, no adds really and very little if any spam, I also use GMX, Inbox.com,AOL mail and Mail.com (I'm very busy, lol), all of these are free, and seem pretty good, but gmail is used the most. Hope this helps.

You really need to upgrade FF. That version was from Nov. 2012.
Even the linux distros include newer versions of FF than that.

The page you see wants you to upgrade your browser.
I tested this on my 7" netbook running an old linux distro and FF version 2!
I do not browse with this - much too insecure.

The page says Yahoo recommends you upgrade your browser to enjoy all the features in the new Yahoo mail.
Below is a Firefox icon with a blue upgrade button.
Under that is a Safari icon with a blue upgrade button.
Scroll down further and you see Continue without upgrading. The Continue is a hot link. Click it and you arrive at your inbox.

You both gave me excellent advice. I'm happy to find out that it's not just me.
    Thanks again

I do hope you will update your old version of FF to the current version, 26.

Ok, I misunderstood the original problem, only because I kept getting a page to upgrade to New Yahoo Mail, and then one day it just completely blocked me from using my mail until I upgraded. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
