yahoo messenger and trillian

Morning. Im not too big on the whole messenger thing, but lately I need it to gab with my daughter. Anyways when I try to use Yahoo M none of the plugins will work, and if I even hover over the task at right, it just closes. if i click on a name or friend or anything, it closes! grr...
Even more annoying with yahoo, is of course it installs alot or extras like toolbars etc.
I used to use Trillian and I actually dont mind it, but these days it wont let me import friends or groups except about the first 5 on my friends list. Any one have any ideas? apparently it should do this automatically.
Even a fix for yahoo would be ok.

I haven't kept up with the new versions, because they were a pain. I like version 5.5.0.1244. It's available along with other old versions at http://www.oldapps.com/yahoo_messenger.htm

Well its what I remembered, and not always closing on me, but (obviously versions) It doesnt have my newest contacts. i'll look into updating the list. Thanks for the good idea Abrie
