Some a-hole stole my user name and password for yahoo messenger. What is the worst than can happen? When I went to login to look at a profile link it sent me to a page that had a bunch of garble on it couldnt understand and well it had my username and password on it so I know it was something he set up to redirect it and get my password when i logged in.

Is he capable of doing much or does he just have control over that account?

    Im not computer smart....obviously...lol

One suggestion would be to see if you can log in from another machine...
If so then log into Yahoo and change your password to something strong (at very least a mix of letters and numbers, the strongest passwords are things like "aa6&FG@we4" - no real meaning and a mixture of symbols, numbers and upper and lower case letters.

If you change your password, then the information someone got from you (if that is indeed what happened) won't be much use. I'd suggest changing your security questions and answers too in case someone has accessed your account and looked at or changed them.
