quick question. Is there anyway to check out a URL before you actually enter it?

 

I am not 100% as to what you are trying to accomplish but in case you are worried about the link/site, try searching it on www.google.com.
To see if the site exist or valid...you could ping it....but I would need to know what the reason was behind your question...

 

The reason for my question, is that someone who I don't know, asked me to check it out and critique it for them. I have a funny feeling it may be a porn site, but not sure, I didn't want to enter it, and find myself at a porn site, then get hammered with porn pop-ups. What do you mean by ping it first?

 

Curiosity got the best of me, and I just went for it. No porno. Thanks

 

if you see a link on a web page or in an e-mail, etc. try right-clicking on the link and choose 'Properties' and on the opening window look at the 'address' field to see which URL it is linked to.
