Hi, I tried folowing the directions on taking a picture of your desktop, but for some reason nothing is happening. Am I following the directions correctly? While your desktop is visible, hold down the shift key and hit Print Screen, ( is this supposedly when the picture is taken) I'm given any notification that anything is happening. Once this step is done you go into Picture It, ULead, etc and save. Do I have this correctly? Could it be that my computer isn't equipped to do this, or can everyone take a picture of their desktop? Thanks.

You have to paste the image from your clipboard. Then save and upload it to MG.

And, you don't need the Shift, just the Print Screen.

 

No need to hit the "Shift" while hitting "Print Screen" In most image programs you just need to right click anywhere in the open area & select "Paste as new image". Then save it & upload here.

Took awhile, want to see if I got this right. I'm really upset, because when I first tried, didn't realize what I was doing and deleted my favorite desktop photo I've been using for about 6mths now. Oh well. How do I post my phot here. Really clueless, but I'd like to learn. I have my desktop saved under my pictures. So where do I go from there. lol

Hello,,to regain your desktop,,open the pic you want to use,,right click on the photo,,and set as desktop,,,this will return the photo to your screen,,once up....at desktop hold SHIFT and then press the print screen button on keyboard,,,,then go START programs , accories,,then paint,,,once paint is open,,go to edit and paste,,once pasted to paint program,,,save file onto desktop,,,if file is too large,,you may have to edit with a photo shop type of program,,,and convert to JPEG,,,,,and save again,,,then post a new message here and click manage attachments before post...upload image to MG then when clicking submit,,,your desktop will appeare with your message,,,the file must be 74k max,,Glenn

LOL made it but.... ,,,then post a new message here and click manage attachments before post.. (where do I find manage attachments?)

Wasn't able to regain old photo, because I made changes to it in Paint, which saved it to my pictures. I wasn't able to undo the changes I made.

 

LOLNEW POST ok just start to type a mew message here,,scrool down before clicking submit,,there is a button to manage attacments,,,,upload and then submit message,GK

 

Fingers crossed! Nope not working. I went to manage attachments, Clicked browse and upload. NOw do I click the submit button under the Edit post section or the submit button in the Additional options section. p.s. I owe ya one. lol

 

Must be done from a new post,,after you see image was uploaded..then submit post ,,presto done

 

Here we go. Whew! after all that, you would have thought it was something worth spending more than an hr. on lol (I'm talking about my desktop)But I did it. Thanks for all your help glen and others It was too big, to begin with.LOL I give up not sure what I'm doing wrong lol.

O.K. Haven't really figured out how to do the desktop thing, but that is really not important right now.

What is important, is that the originial screentop I did have, and thought was deleted, is now showing up first when I click on my logon name.(Which is not necessarily a bad thing, since that was my favorite lol) Followed by a warning box, "Not able to locate C/documents/settings etc. Then my new desktop appears with the icons.

Does that mean I can pull up my old desktop again? Where do I begin to look for it? Dank ya very much!
