Okay, everything got super slow and I switched to Firefox from Safari. Things seemed to get even worse .. popups and PUPS everywhere. Whenever I install something I am careful .. and look for unwanted plugins and programs uninstalling whatever i can after. But after years of use it's hard to keep you system smooth.

So I still have popups and I know things should be faster. Please take a look and see if I should rerun anything remove stuff this time. (I followed README to the letter .. so didn't remove everything as instructed).

    Thanks again!

P.S. HitmanPro log was zipped to allow uploading.

    Hi there. :)

Are you deliberately set up to use a proxy?

No, I did not setup a proxy. I'm a software developer of 25+ years so I know enough .. to be dangerous! What's the easiest way to see proxy settings?

    Thanks.

P.S. Google is my friend and I found proxy settings. I believe this was put there when I installed x3watch .. so is okay.

    Uninstall these:

    • Delta Chrome Toolbar
    • RegZooka v2.7
    • Smiley Bar for Facebook

Re run Hitman and have it fix everything EXCEPT for the proxy (under repairs) and these below:

Suspicious files Hitman says, but they're all fine.

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    • O2 - BHO: InternetHelper1.5 - {1930e38a-deef-4cf4-9bfb-9c4ea3689a9d} - (no file)
    • O2 - BHO: Smiley Bar for Facebook - {944FEDFD-C4FD-441D-8275-9C651A9FFBDE} - C:\Program Files (x86)\Smiley Bar for Facebook\ScriptHost.dll
    • O2 - BHO: Yontoo Layers - {FD72061E-9FDE-484D-A58A-0BAB4151CAD8} - C:\Program Files (x86)\Yontoo\YontooIEClient.dll
    • O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {ae07101b-46d4-4a98-af68-0333ea26e113} - (no file)

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    Download and run OTM.

Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    Code:
    :Files
    C:\ProgramData\BitGuard
    C:\ProgramData\Conduit
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Conduit
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Level Quality Watcher
    C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaViewV1
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Optimizer Pro
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\337
    C:\SearchProtect
    C:\Windows\oodjobd.INI

    :reg
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{006ee092-9658-4fd6-bd8e-a21a348e59f5}]
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{006ee092-9658-4fd6-bd8e-a21a348e59f5}]
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{014DB5FA-EAFB-4592-A95B-F44D3EE87FA9}]

    :Commands
    [emptytemp]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2782/4174320048_f01c448b32_o.png button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it into a text file to ATTACH into your next reply.

NOTE: If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and attach the contents of that document back here in your next post.

http://imageshack.us/a/img841/7292/thisisujrt.gif Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now!

    Wow .. lots of stuff.

    A few observations.

Hitman found "SkyrimTPC_Launcher.exe" to be a trojan but it was something that I installed for game modding. I let it quarantine (I can download it again .. but just an FYI.
Couldn't find HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\npggsvc\ in Hintman .. so whatever!
I ran it a couple time just to be sure all clean. Not sure if I got a log file saved or not. Sorry.

O2 - BHO: InternetHelper1.5 was the only thing I found in HJT that you listed. So fixed that.

After following your instructions I am still noticing some adware in Firefox .. (Safari is much faster though!). I SweetPack toolbar and Related Searches, and Topic Torch .. plus little ads that appear "embedded". Could be ValueApps. I think some of this is related to Yontoo. I noticed this in Add/Remove programs before running your instructions. Now it's gone from there but the adware still exists. I did find some removal instructions in a "settings page" however. Likewise I think there is an Uninstall option for Sweetpacks. Normally I would try the uninstall options but thought I'd follow your advice first.

Logs attached. And thanks for your expertness!! :p

    Delete this:

    C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Roaming\{A99FB86C-4807-4c30-8B95-FAE7D70C61BD}.dat

But I specifically told you NOT to delete that. Read my instructions carefully please.
Which? :confused Yontoo and Sweetpacks never ever showed in the logs when you came here.

Not according to the logs there isn't.
    Do this:

We are going to be uninstalling your old version of FireFox and installing the new version. (Except we will use Revo Uninstaller rather than the standard uninstaller) So do the below to save bookmarks:

    • Run FireFox and click Bookmarks.
    • Then select Organize Bookmarks.
    • Then on the next window click File and then select Export. Save the bookmarks.html file to your Desktop for later use in importing.
Now download and save the installer for the current version of FireFox but DO NOT install it yet. Get it here: Mozilla FireFox

You will need exit FireFox now and use Internet Explorer to continue with the below until we reinstall FireFox.

Start by uninstalling FireFox and then reboot. Do not skip the reboot.
After reboot, delete the below folders:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    • C:\users\UserAccount\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

where UserAccount is the actual user account name being used.

Now reinstall FireFox from the file previously downloaded.
Import your bookmarks file. (similar process to exporting).

    ===============

    Any better?

Perhaps I was too detailed in my reply .. some misunderstandings. Anyway, I'm satisfied now :-D .. $$$ Donated.

I wasn't looking TO delete it but looking to NOT delete it.

Both but reinstall Firefox got rid of them.

The uninstall was an option on the tool menu itself... Or a redirected web page showed instructions. But no matter, Revo and reinstall got rid.

I'm working through Final Steps now. Decided to install Comodo and get rid of MS Security Essentials. Anyway, I should be able to take it from here. Unless there is something else you advise .. thanks.

    Just the final steps... :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
