1965 Chevy Corvair Monza coupe, it came with a 140 HP, 4 speed trans, fully independent suspension, 2 door, but would seat four…..the only times I ever used the back seat, were to install a set of speakers, and clean the back windows, but the back seat would fold down, with the front seats folding forward I could sleep in it…it came with a tachometer, and the speedometer was 0 – 140 mph……it used a aluminum , air-cooled flat 6, with four one barrel carbs, for those that don’t know, the engine was in the back and I added a better cam, and lowered the car……..I never tried racing on the quarter mile track, but did have a friend in the highway patrol, who used his radar gun, and three flat out runs, 167 miles per hour, my fastest speed……wobbles

 

I remember those covairs, not to many made really rare even in 65, but a couple of my friends had them? Way ahead of there time.

 

It was Ralph Nader that put the Mojo on the corvairs, gas tank in rear? Chevy caved in never made another. I think they even had disk brakes all around?

 

1968 Chevrolet Malibu SS - now THAT is a car. Even still had the wing vents.

 

The Malibu in the 60's had 283 ci, 327,396,427 ci some even had corvett fuel injection very fast out of the hole.

I never got to drive a cobra, but did test drive a GT-500 when they first came out. Fastest car I was ever in frpm A to Z flat

Back in the 60’s you could go down to your local Avis Rent-a-car, and rent a cobra and rent one for the weekend…….

I think they are cool, easy to park, economical, and great at drive-ins if they still have those? My girlfriend had a metropolitan in high school same thing.

 

I have four brothers, and at one time four of us had one each......I had a the big 6 cyc with a 3 speed, one of my brothers had one with an 8 cyc, man the car would cook.....wobbles

I actually mistaken your gremlin for a pinto, sorry I was just commenting on Metros, but I degress. You should of kept the gremlin, I know hindsight. I should of kept all my cars, But being Americans we fall in love with our autos. And never want to give them up. You know eat in them, sleep, live love and worship them? Also spend every dime you make fixing or adoring them.

 

well ive got to many favs to list lol but i dont own any of them,but for now the one i do own is a 2004 subaru wrx sti so i guess it my favorite for now
