    Okay,

I soon plan to start servicing and building custom PCs for everyone from the average Joe to people who have more money than sense (Those will be the fun ones, right? :) )

Here's a list of what I have on my jump drive. Kind of a list of handy files, please feel free to add any any utilies, be they security, fixes, or just cool free software. Keep in mind that my jump drive is only 256MB.

    Worm Remover
    AntiVir
    AVG
    Sygate
    Ad-Aware
    Spybot
    Winsockxpfix
    Zone Alarm
    Acrobat Reader
    Macromedia Flash Player
    Shockwave
    Mozilla Firefox
    Mozilla Thunderbird
    Art Rage
    Jarte
    AbiWord

Tell me some good ones :D

For antivirus and antispyware programs, see this thread on How to Protect yourself from malware!

If your going to be dealing with computers, HijackThis is a MUST!!! :D

The best I have used is Reg Supreme PRO and Registry Mechanic.

Those are great suggestions for registry cleaners by bjgarrick. Personally I use Registry Mechanic which is good picks up most registry errors etc. And I also use RegSeeker which is a bit more aggressive, but thats why you just create a backup. RegSeeker usually picks up what registry mechanic misses.

Registry Mechanic and Reg Supreme Pro are not free though. But RegSeeker is free.

You should also add Crap Cleaner, SpywareBlaster, and SpywareGuard to your list of apps.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

What ideas do you have about programs such as CD/DVD burning, DVD watching, word processing, maybe accounting, free games?

OpenOffice is an outstanding office suite.

7-Zip is a excellent open source file archiver.

I use to use 7-zip, now I use zipgenius:

Couldn't find it on majorgeeks. This is my current favorite program. It also includes 7zip functionality....

Forgot to mention, this is freeware.....
