Post some of your local news paper or TV news headlines about the bad things going on in your area. Story discussion encouraged!

This first one from me is bad but kinda cool too.

A sniper has been shooting at trucks on I-95 in Ponte Vedra Beach. No one was injured (thank God) but one of the vehicles hit was a fully loaded fuel truck. Can you just imagine what 'could' have happened in this situation?

The driver of the fuel truck pulled over and held his finger over the hole to stop the leaking fuel from running all over the place until help arrived. How cool is that?:cool

Another story...this one infuriates me. A young man working at the PV Inn and Spa was taking pictures of young naked children with his cell phone. I vote for castration!

I don't believe they should even bother to arrest him, once you know something like that it should be.. Are you so and so? Yeah that's... BANG

Courts are for humans, these folks clearly aren't.

Up in Humboldt county we are spared most fires. A thunderstorm line came through Friday night and we have 100 fires in the North Country.....

    So here's the local scoop...

The president of the Oregon chapter of the Mongols Motorcycle Club was sentenced Monday to one year in jail and banned for five years from wearing club paraphernalia or associating with club members — including, apparently, his twin brother — for attempting to run two investigators off Interstate 5 in Eugene in April.

Evidence in the trial showed DeLoretto, 27, followed the two officers for 90 miles while summoning two associates who joined him to box-in the unmarked sport utility vehicle driven by federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Special Agent James Packard and Eugene police Detective Dave Burroughs.

In court Monday, Deputy Lane County District Attorney Stephen Morgan described the incident as a “gang crime” in which anyone could have been the victim had they mistakenly turned into DeLoretto’s driveway.

But new news today shows this is what actually happened......

Just one day after he was sentenced to a year in Lane County jail for menacing two government investigators, DeLoretto was released by the county, saying it didn’t have the jail beds to keep him, and he posed less of a risk to the community than others in county custody.

DeLoretto was sentenced on Tuesday to serve 180 days for each of his two convictions of menacing.

Each month, the county releases scores of inmates early because it lacks to staff to keep them in jail.

Now I'm not making any judgment on whether this guy did wrong or not - I can't - I wasn't there. But isn't it a bit scary that scores of inmates are wandering my county? How do they decide which ones are "okay" to release? Either they did a crime that needs punishment or they didn't. Seems we make (or change) the rules as we go along. Might as well not bother at all.....

Wow, havn't seen one like that, here in san joaquin county, they only let non violent offenses off early (court cap), they even keep the DUI's in for the full haul.

    Letting him out was nuts

It's not quite local, but it's 30 miles away,,,,

Get this, a man, his girlfriend, and his brother, were drinking in a park late at nite. (sounds like a joke right?) Well they decided to relive the old days by exploring the storm drains, like when they were kids. Somehow they got lost, so to figure out where they were, they dicided it would be a good idea to pop up a manhole cover! Yeah, you guessed it! ba-dump, ba-dump, he's alright, just a skull fracture, his girlfreind and brother got hauled in for drunk in public

I guess he was merely guilty of SSS (Stupid Stunt Syndrome), which is not a punishable offence :-D
