Your opinions on my new computer - DELL Inspirion 5160

Hey fellas -

I just ordered a new Inspirion 5160 laptop from DELL and am curious as to what you guys think of it - got it for 1400 bucks and the specs are below in my sig . . . i will primarily be using it for email, internet, music, and dvd burning, basic home stuff. I will not be using it for graphic design, or hardcore gaming as i love my xbox and Halo is an addiction for sure -

So as far as my uses are conerned what do you think? Is this a solid system or what small upgrades should i eventually be looking into? I realize a 30 gig HD seems kinda small but what in the hell will i use it for?? DVDs will go on discs and music on an ipod . . . seems fine to me . . .

if it sits atop of a desk its fine; but i think you overpaid maybe 300$~ for a P4 and shortchanged your battery by a bunch (if your going to be portable). Other then that its good

yeah, that's $1400 AFTER tax, software, and shipping

it is a desktop replacement and will be plugged in most of the time for sure - thats why i opted for the p4 over the PM centrino

any other opinions?

 

Centrino's faster than a P4-M though.
I like centrino better than P4-Ms too
but it's a good lappy for sure
