youtube & octet-stream

    It just started today on this XP machine of mine that every other thing I click on YouTube prompts me to download an "octet-stream" file. WTH is all that about? :zzz using firefox

    Had an update from avast 5 this morning that's all I can think of but i do have the downloader helper add on installed

    Seen that happen when its youtubes issue their end over your browser, just make sure you Fx is fully uptown date, also just try IE to humour me and is it the same?

    Would also try what that thread mentions in disabling or running Fx's safe mode to test, as its very possible that the ownload manager adding is not updated to cope with any changes to YouTube that may have been made, whike apps have versiobs not always a website shows this.

    Just dump your temps and try or just wait for YouTube to fix their stuff.

    All is good in IE Dave, I will try updating the download helper and see how it goes. Gotta get moving to town now! I hate shopping...
