zip file upload

How can i upload a zip file or a bat file??

I have tried to upload both zip and bat file but everytime i am getting errr message : "invalid filename"

The server i ahve tried is Geocities site or other sites.

depends on the hosts policy on uploads? some have a pilicy whereas you cannot upload files to their servers, you can only host a webpage, depending on what you want to upload and if its something for others to download from your webpage etc then try one of the following hosts

http://www.megaupload.com/
http://www.yousendit.com/
http://rapidshare.de/

how are you uploading the file such as zip, through geocities upload online?
i know that geocities probably wont let you do this

try this way around loading files to your geocities site:

use an ftp program to load the files, to download the file you will have to edit the page that you want to grab the file from and add proper html code to link the file for downloading
